- Pre-sales: presenting the benefits of Oracle Policy Automation, providing live demonstrations of the different deployment types and how to use the development tools, spelling out technical details --- and developing:
- Proofs of concept small exercises used to demonstrate a discrete design idea or principle put forward by OPA as a Business Rules Management System (BRMS), consisting in the building of a small rulebase inspired by the customer's industry
- Prototypes more fleshed-out systems that simulate the full target systems, consisting in a more advanced rulebase deployed in a way that would match the customer's requirements (ex: interactive questionnaire placed in an iframe, web service invoked from a Java client application, batch processing, etc)
- Pilots use the full production system and test it against a subset of the general intended audience (the main reasons for doing a pilot is to get a better understanding of how the product will be used in the field and to refine the product)
- Consulting: handling the implementation of OPA: integration of the runtime components, configuration of the deployment and modeling of the rulebase using best practice and lessons learnt on other projects.
