Although navigating through the rulebase and introducing simple changes is meant to be achievable by IT as well as business users, new projects should require experienced OPA Consultants to maximise the potential and the effectiveness of the development tools, acquire best practice and benefit of lessons learnt on other projects.

OWD and ODS do provide COTS functionality, but advanced development and customisation tasks may soon be required (ex: cross-entity reasoning, data adaptors, user-screen-sequence programming, session handling, custom functions, etc), which require experienced OPA technical developers.

OPA's unique rule-based foundation requires a suitable Delivery Methodology combining OPA-specific analysis and development tasks with conventional software delivery.
A common pitfall here is the synchronisation of the data model.

• Oracle's as well as (more useful!) in-house templates and process documents are utilised and shared to facilitate project management, integration and rules development
